Valerie has always had a cat or a dog. Now she and her husband share their home with two dogs and a cat. Bruno, the Chihuahua mix is the oldest. Samsom, the black Lab mix thinks he's a lap dog, and the gray cat joined the family when her people moved out of state. They named her Penny, but Valerie calls her Hissy Missy.

Award winning author Valerie Massey Goree resides in the Pacific Northwest, in a small 'village by the bay'. Born in South Africa, Valerie grew up in Rhodesia—now Zimbabwe. Her desire to become a teacher brought her to the US. At university, she met her husband, Glenn. After they married, they served as missionaries in Rhodesia for six years where their two children were born.

When the family returned to the USA, Glenn pastored a small church, and Valerie began teaching, serving twenty-five years in the public school arena working with special needs students. After she retired, Valerie focused on her writing. She won the American Christian Fiction Writers Genesis Award in the Romantic Suspense category. Her latest novel Day of Reckoning, a sequel to Weep, will be published toward the end of the year. Check here for updates.
